I began tutoring in 2013 at ITT Technical Institute in New Jersey, after enrolling there in December 2011. In July 2015 I graduated with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. I am most comfortable tutoring in math, which I find fun since it's so concrete. The answers are either right or wrong, and I guess to me it's an exact science. My style of tutoring guides students through the steps of a problem. I like the saying that if you teach a man to fish, he will eat for a lifetime, because I prefer to develop a student's understanding of mathematical concepts rather than serve simply as an answer machine. As students successfully progress to a thorough understanding of advanced concepts, I hope that one day they will surpass and no longer need me as their tutor.I like to collect movies as a hobby and my favorites include independent art films such as Pi. Darren Aronofsky directed this film which examines math in a mystical light. The movie takes place in New York City, a favorite place of mine to visit, and celebrates the city's distinctive cultural mix. I also like to collect various genres and styles of music, and toys from the Star Wars movies.
